Nearly 30 Years of Success

The Hoopa Career and Technical Education Program (HCATEP) has been funded through the Native American Career and Technical Education Program (NACIEP) under the U.S. Department of Education since 1994 and serves the educational needs of the Klamath-Trinity River communities from Orleans to Salyer. Funded through the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Education Act. P.L. 101-932, This grant funded program works in partnership with College of the Redwoods to provide quality educational programs to interested community members.

Preparing You for the Future

The Hoopa Career and Technical Education Program (HCATEP) works in collaboration with College of the Redwoods to develop quality industry recognized certificates, two-year degrees and two year degrees for a direct transfer to a four-year University while preparing for high skilled and high wage employment.

The Hoopa Career and Technical Education Program has committed to increase employment and entrepreneurship in the private sector and Tribal enterprises, as well as in child care and early childhood education, construction, health occupations and medical assisting, forestry and natural resources management, and other existing and emerging professions and occupations.

We strive to provide high quality instruction and student support services, including activities designed to facilitate participants career exploration, understanding of how their interests and abilities fit into the workplace, goal setting and self-regulated learning, and use of available program and community support.
